Iron Hops Brewing is committed to pushing the boundaries to brew remarkable, high quality beers and share our passion with all beer lovers.

Head Brewer and Owner, Chad Thompson, has spent almost 25 years in the St. Louis food and beverage industry. Chad has also earned an International Diploma in Brewing Technology from one of the most prestigious and the oldest brewing schools in the U.S. Siebel Institute of Chicago and Domens Academy in Munich Germany, both part of The World Brewing Academy.

Only a select few in the St. Louis area have completed this program which gives Chad and IHB an advantage over many other breweries in the area.

Chad’s experience has given him the ability to already make a name for himself and create a following for his beer. Chad, a Certified Beer Server and Sommelier, was part of the management team for over 10 years of the 13 with Robust wine bar. He has also been a home brewer for ten years allowing him to put his beers up to some of the most discriminant palates in the city.

His education, talent, and his many years in the Food and Beverage industries gives him the contacts, experience, and skills necessary to make Iron Hops Brewing not only a success, but an Industry leader.  

 

Chad has collected feedback from these tastings for the last 9 years noting how palates change and how trends differ from year to year.  Always experimenting with new ingredients and techniques.  One of Chad’s favorite parts of the brewing process is being able to turn an idea into a tangible drink he can share with all.
